
Dough:
1 packet of quick rise yeast (2 ¼ tsp)
1 tsp sugar
1 cup warm water
2 Tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
2 ½ cups flour
For the Pretzel:
¼ cup baking soda
String cheese
1 beaten egg (for brushing)
Coarse salt

Mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let it sit until it froths slightly.

Add in the rest of the dough ingredients and knead until fully combined.

Let the dough rest for 5–10 minutes

Split the dough into 6 equal parts and roll each into a rope/snake shape.

Wrap each dough rope around one string cheese. Tip: Make sure there are no cracks in the dough to prevent the cheese from oozing out.

In a large pot, boil water and mix in the baking soda.

Place each pretzel into the boiling water for 30 seconds.

Remove and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush each pretzel with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.

Bake at 425°F for 20 minutes.
